Hauhake Harakeke

We have been reading about harakeke. Harakeke is the Maori word for flax. We found out that the flax has different strands. There are the tupuna (grandparents), matua (father), whaea (mother) and baby (rito). You are allowed to cut the grandparents but if you cut the baby, father or mother the flax will die.
